Middle school is the place of transition for young adolescents who are growing at a rapid pace socially, emotionally and intellectually. Our goal is to provide a trusting foundation where they can begin to make choices, take on more responsibilities and learn to advocate for themselves in a supportive environment. Faculty lead sixth, seventh and eighth graders in discovering students' capabilities for leadership and the necessary qualities of confidence, ethics, responsibility and respect.

Middle School provides an environment in which students will develop a strong academic background and a sense of ethical and social responsibilities. Critical thinking, creativity, cooperative learning, innovation and inquiry are the primary focal points of the Middle Sçhool program. Students are encouraged to participate in activities to explore and develop both their interests and talents.

The close personal relationships developed in the classrooms, on the playing field and in the performing arts make Mendham Country Day School a special place for middle school students.

With caring adults who nurture them and guide them through their time at the Middle School, students become proficient learners and also gain understanding of how to be better citizens in an ever-changing world.

Middle School provides a rich and varied experience. Mendham Country Day School believes that upon the completion of the 8th grade, every student will have the necessary integrity and academic skills to be a contributing member of the high school of their choice.
