Mendham Country Day School prides itself on being a place with a strong academic environment that is both focused and fun. A solid educational program is provided in language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, art, music, foreign languages, and physical education. There is a heavy emphasis in the area of language arts, as it pertains to reading, writing, and oral expression.
Children who are motivated, intelligent, and creative have the greatest chance for academic success at Mendham Country Day School. We seek students that have the greatest potential to succeed in an accelerated academic program. Our goal is for each child to grow and mature into intelligent, confident, compassionate, and inquisitive young adult. The MCDS Difference
For the past 30+ years, Mendham Country Day School has been providing students with an exceptional academic experience that inspires them through positive, academically advanced, creative learning. MCDS is a non-sectarian day primary school with grades Kindergarten through the eighth grade.
MCDS’s intentionally small class sizes offer each student individualized academic attention through personalized instruction. Students are given the opportunity to work to their ability and not be held back by age or grade level. No other school in the area, public or private, can match that type of personal curriculum for each student.
MCDS focuses on the whole student while building the fundamentals through traditional reading and math programs, along with the arts, humanities, science, technology, and languages.
As part of their educational experience, all students are immersed in our choral, instrumental music, art, physical education, computer science, STEM, STEAM, and foreign language programs. Once students enter the Early Kindergarten class they transition from biweekly foreign language classes to daily instruction by native speakers. Mandarin is part of the foreign language curriculum beginning at Kindergarten.
